Reel Abilities, AJFF and JFI/SFJFF among recipients of Academy FilmWatch grants

24 May 2020

Reel Abilities, the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival and the Jewish Film Institute/San Francisco Jewish Film Festival were among the 96 recipients of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences FilmWatch grants in 2020. This year the awards also include emergency grant funds announced in April in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. “All of the grants, which total a combined $2.5 million in funds, are awarded based on current need to organisations that support filmmakers and reach audiences from underserved communities,” according to a press release issued by the Academy. Individual grants range between $5,000 and $200,000.

FilmWatch grants are awarded every year to organisations in North America. Applications usually need to be filed by November. Check here for eligibility requirements.
